Frequently asked questions
Does compressing change the image quality? ›
Lower quality settings reduce file size but can introduce visible compression artifacts, especially on JPEG and WebP. Compare the preview before downloading.
Is there a file size limit? ›
The tool works best under 50 MB; very large files depend on your device’s available memory.
Is my image uploaded anywhere? ›
No. The image is decoded and re-encoded entirely in your browser using the Canvas API.
Troubleshooting
Why is the compressed file barely smaller than the original? ›
Some images (especially ones already compressed by a phone camera or another tool) have little redundant data left to remove. Try a lower quality setting or a different output format.
Why does my image look blurry or blocky after compressing? ›
Very low quality settings trade sharpness for a smaller file. Move the quality slider higher and compare the preview before downloading.
